May with Noah, Abby & Julia

The kids are growing fast -- it's hard to keep up with what's new. I'll be brief since I know no one's really as impressed with them as I am. We really do have three super kids. I'll start with Julia!

She's nearly four months old now. She was starting to sleep much better....until she learned how to roll over. She sleeps much better on her tummy, but she'll get herself flipped onto her back and can't get back over. Then she just gets mad.

She weighs 14 lbs now. She's definitely outgrown her 3 month clothes, and she's on her way to outgrowing her 6 month clothes!

She's becoming more interactive. She'll have a conversation with you where you talk and she gurgles and coos back.

She's started to bat and grab at toys. She's really enjoyed the exersaucer. She seems to prefer being upright to laying down, so she spends lots of time in the jumper and Bumbo seat.

Julia absolutely adores Noah. He can always get a smile out of her. It's pretty remarkable how sweet and caring he is towards her!

Sweet Abby will be two in July which is really hard to believe! She still seems like my baby in so many ways.

Abby is a total princess -- she loves to play dress up and have her nails painted. But then she'll wrestle with Noah and get just as dirty the next day. We haven't quite figured her out yet!

She loves the beach, mostly digging in the sand. And she LOVES sweets.

She doesn't care anything about the television which is usually my last ditch effort for a diversion when I'm making dinner. She usually ends up in the kitchen "helping" me. She loves to use the mixer and fill the glasses with ice.

She's a little diva. If anyone leaves their sunglasses or shoes within her reach, she'll take them and try them on!

Noah is growing into the "little man" nickname Luke gave him before he was even born. He seems like such a big boy -- especially when I try to pick him up!

Noah loves reading books. He's so close to learning to read, which is just incredible to me. He's constantly telling me things like, "Cup. C-C-C. C starts with cup." (That's really how he says it!) He's sounding out simple words. He's really doing quite amazing for just being three!

Noah loves to dig in the dirt or sand. He'd spend the entire day scooping sand into his bulldozer and then pouring it into the dumptruck.

He loves to go to the park and "Old McDonalds". He's finally showing more bravery when it comes to the slides! He's great at making new friends. He'll have entire conversations with every neighbor that walks by our house. (I'm pretty sure one couple purposely changed their route because of him!)

Our children bring us so much pleasure -- it's a joy watching them grow up!
Here we are on Mothers Day!

....by the way, does anyone else have trouble getting all their kids to look normal in a picture at the same time???

Our (Crowded!) Little Garden

Last month, when Grandma Jobe was visiting, she built and planted a garden with the kids. We started with our frame....

and filled it up with dirt....

added water and dug around in the mud for awhile....

then planted all the seeds!

Here's the finished product! We planted:
corn
green beans
sunflowers
herbs
tomatoes
lettuce
peas
gourds
pumpkins
and watermelons!
It's a crowded little garden, but it has been so much fun to check on every day.
This picture is from a few weeks ago.
For anyone who knows me well, I definitely don't have a good track record with plants, but these are still alive! Luke says it's because Grandma planted them. Either way, we're excited to reap our harvest some day -- hopefully soon!
